The good news about the awful summer we've been having in the UK is the cloud. It's been plentiful and quite dramatic on a regular basis, even tropical at times. I'd been meaning to visit this spot for some time but it's very difficult to get shots without other people being present. I struck lucky this time and managed a few reasonable shots before it started raining again. Here are my 3 favourites from the short time I was there.

When I see grand works in stone, like this (which I love by the way), I cannot but wonder, how many people suffered and maybe died, to make it happen.
I do really like the way you captured it, especially the very wide angle.

Thanks Steve, these old relics are their to remind us how much better things really are for a lot of us. Unfortunately mankind has an unfortunate habit of forgetting the past and repeating his mistakes, all the lessons are there, we just need to remember them.

Great shots. I would love to see some of those clouds, we're in the midst of a severe drought. :frown:

Great shots, sure do love the 7-14 for these types of shots, and the B & W looks great too.

Thanks Bob, we've just had the driest winter I can remember so we had it coming. I'm not complaining water is the most precious resource there is.
