The one thread I could find for Still Life seems inaccessible so I figured I'd start a new thread.

Anywho, its hosing down with rain and we have gale force wind warnings tonight so I figured I'd pull out some white paper and a few odds and ends to shoot under lamp light with a minimum of messing around.

These are all with an E-P1, OM Zuiko f3.5 50mm Auto-Macro handheld. They're not great but its quite calming to shoot house-hold objects and looking at the play of light, shadow and colour as part of the composition.

Sort of

Still life with a slightly different slant that sits between still/abstract!

Did you end up blowing on the dandelion after the shot ?

The trashed flowers are great. Something about decay which adds an extra element.

No I did not blow on the Dandelion, it took so long to get it so I could shoot without it moving/waving, I did not have the heart to blow it - the wind did pick even more soon after so I am sure it spread it's seeds far and wide.

I do tend to shoot images like these as I see them and as they appeal to me!

Is that second one called "Plumber Fruit"?

Sorry to make such a tasteless crack. I shouldn't make your photography the butt of jokes... seriously I feel like an ass...

I'll stop now...

Hah, yeah i was looking to get some peaches next :)

I love the square crop but i'm struggling a bit with how much white space and shadow to leave in the surrounds.
