Just got back from an event that takes place each year, where old tractors and steams engines are exhibited. I found the grounds quite difficult to photograph - with tight spaces and busy confusing backgrounds with the masses of RVs parked in the same space as well as tons of hydro poles and hydro lines.

But I managed to do what I could to get some interesting shots. Here is a short set of black and whites. Photographed with Olympus E-PL1 and E-PL3 along with 14-42 kit lens and 40-150 lens:

    P9070015.

    P9070026.

    P9070131.

Nothing wrong with having to go in tight. You got some fascinating faces. Very nice shots!

While nothing special as a photograph, this actually was quite an amazing piece. The steam powered mini tractor travelled completely around the fairgrounds. The driver was constantly feeding wood into the small firebox, to power the engine. It kept up to the speed of the others.

I think you did quite well, these are very nice. Getting in close really worked for these.

Should be called the Steam and Thressher and Face Show. The facial expressions are great.

Some great people shots, and you captured some really nice photographs by going in tighter to the subjects. Nice work

Fabulous work. Love the tight crops and B+W. Next time I do one of these I'll do it in B+W too. Mine have been too visually confusing in color.

Amazing what you can do with a kit lens and an old camera - imagine what you can do with some "decent" kit:rofl:

Makes me feel ashamed to want to "upgrade" my GF1.

    Nice work.
