Bald Eagles are known to congregate at Starved Rock this time of year, but since it has been unseasonably warm recently I didn't see any eagles yesterday. It was also really foggy which made any type of photography difficult. That said, I camped out near the visitor's center for a couple hours and tried to capture some smaller birds there. Here are a few of my favorites.
All these were taken with the Em1 Mark2 and the Panasonic 100-400. I am a relative newcomer to the 20 megapixel sensor, having only recently picked up that camera used, but to my eyes it is a significant upgrade over the 16mp sensor. Since the lighting was dim, most of these are at pretty high ISOs and I didn't apply noise reduction in order to preserve detail.

I gave you a 🏆 because I think these are some great shots,I do want to say that I don't think you should fear the noise reduction but I understand its ur shot.

Fantastic photos.
I'm amazed at the collection of different birds in the one location.
Not sure I'd see such diversity here.
You've got some beauties there, and the combination proves itself admirably. I've same combo.
Did you hand hold?

As for NR, it's something I've not mastered and love to see what could be done with one or more of these. But that's not my call.
To me they look very good as is and it's not a bother

Thanks so much! Yes, everything was handheld. I did rest my elbows on a fence for some of them.
Concerning noise reduction, I may just not be very good at it. I do use the sliders in lightroom at times, but don't generally like the results I get. I have heard good things about the Topaz labs noise reduction software, but don't own that yet.
