I really like doing live composite; the only drawback are that when I really have clear skies are when I'm camping and battery time is valuable.
This was my third and last attempt out on Oahu taken from my hotel balcony. Left this one on the "balcony" overnight until the battery died..

Neat pic.
I've got to assume they were aircraft trails, and not a meteor shower ----
Wow. This is amazing. Well composed and the star trails are spectacularI haven’t done any star trail shots in a while. It was a clear night in northern Arizona, so I went out and shot this of the start trails over my RV. A passing truck helped to light under my rig and give the red glow on the front.
Shot with my EM10 and Rokinon 12/2.

Oh Good, this thread is still alive I've also been experimenting with live composite. Tonight I tried to leave it out long enough to try and get some star trails. unfortunately there's also a lot of background light towards the west (which is where I can easily shoot.)
Any ideas why they all look green?
What white balance do you have set on your camera ?
Double blush:
1. Auto. Any recommendations?
2. I didn't see your message until now--my apologies for the late response.
...or just shoot RAW. Not having to think about things like white balance while shooting is pretty high on my list of reasons for doing that.I’ll need to make me a crib sheet for all the different settings and different situations ?
