It was a very nice weekend here in North Alabama. My girlfriend and I decided to go to Big Spring Park, which is located in downtown Huntsville. The park is named after Big Spring, and underground spring which feeds some ponds in the park. Much of Downtown Huntsville was built on underground caves, caverns, and springs.
On one side of the street there is a large pond with ducks, pigeons, and even some geese. On the other side of the road is the actually spring which feeds these ponds via a canal.
These are some images from around the pond:
After walking around the pond, hunger and thirst set in, and there is a little Italian cafe where I got a cold one. Those across the pond might appreciate: its Newcastle.
