    Hello All,
    I'm along time m43 user with an EM5 and EPL2 and shoot primarily landscape especially waterfalls which I love.
    Im coming up on spring break (March 17-22) and REALLY need to get away to clear my head.
    Im a full time grad student with very limited funds living in connecticut.
    Does anyone recommend a place that I could travel (air or drive) where I could spend a few days shooting and hiking on a very limited budget?
    Thanks in adance

    I don't know how far you're willing to drive but Rickett's Glen State Park near Scranton, Pennsylvania has 21 named waterfalls on an amazing 8 mile hike, the gorges in Ithaca New York are nice too.

    Try the Kancamagus trail - granted it is more popular during fall, but there are a number of stops along the way that presents a different scene. There's also a mini-waterfall there. But I love it there - makes me feel calm and peaceful even during tourist peak season.

    Dry Tortugas National Park, south and west of Key West. PLUS the drive down is amazing. For you about 30-32 hours. Try to hit A1A between Key Largo and Key West at dusk... it'll change your life. Key West will too, as much or as little as you like.

    Some great ideas. Thank you everyone. I am leaning toward the Scranton idea, though.

    I know how you feel; I never have a place to go ether for spring break. Money to travel is always an issue.
    I always wanted to spend two or three days to travel across NY state visiting places and photographing scenery and architecture;
    Better yet to do the same traveling across the new England area.

    Finger Lakes in Upstate NY, or Acadia National Park to the north are both beautiful. Do a google image search. Both have great photo opportunities and outdoor recreation.

    I live in the Finger lakes area and there are lots of great lakes and waterfalls in the area.

    Check out nyfalls.com for some great information.
