On Sunday we went to the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, west of Minneapolis. Some of the trees had not yet gotten their leaves back, including these somewhat grotesque specimens. The photos (GF1, 20mm 1.7) were imported into Lightroom, and then I played around with B&W conversions in Nik Silver Efex. I particularly liked the Antique Plate I effect, which gives the trees a spooky, ominous presence.

Yes, spooky they are - they remind me trees from some sort of gothic tale of horror! Nice work there, Vic.
