Hello all. I've been reading here a lot; however, never posted, until now. Something I have noticed, including my own personal experience is (BTW, I have an EPL1 with kit lens) that whenever I see pictures posted (not all the time) using the kit lens that the pictures look awfully (too much) colorful.

I have the same experience in moderate light. I have tried different F-settings, etc... but that doesn't change the result. When I see pictures posted using a different lens, the colors are just beautiful (inside, outside, good or bad lighting). Are there other settings on the EPL1 that I should change to help. BTW, I am still somewhat of a novice.

Thanks for any and all help...

Are you shooting JPG? If so, which picture mode are you in? If you're in iEnhance or Vivid, that will oversaturate your images so you should switch it to Natural. Also make sure that Graduation is set to Normal and not Auto, as Auto will enable "Shadow Adjustment Technology" which will mess up your images.

Maybe post an example of some of the photos that aren't coming out right?

Thanks for the help. I had both settings as you described. They have been changed to your recommendation. A quick photo and, wow, that corrected it for me. Now on to taking pictures. Oh, forgot to say... the amount information sharing here is the best I have seen with any forum, for any subject, I've been part of...

BTW, any other recommendations for setting changes?

As an alternative you could use iEnhance, but go into the picture mode menu (under menu #1)h and change the "effect" to "low". This will change this setting to use nice and vivid but realistic colors.

Change settings one at a time to see what they do and what you like.

The mini-skirt, like good writing is long enough to cover the subject, but short enough to be interesting.

I totally agree. I always read and enjoy Neds posts. But moderating a forum is a lot of work, and I think his time is more valuable contributing as he does now, than beginning to spend some of his time as a moderator.
