When I saw that PR0RES was going to be native to Vegas PRO 14 (free with the $199 special offer on Vegas 13 from MAGIX) I bought it. I've use Movie Studio Suite for a long time and somehow was not that comfortable with Premiere Elements which I need to work in QuickTime which cased me to switch from MS after the "hole" in QT was announced.

Because of my use of Movie Studio the switch to Vegas has been seamless and here are the biggest benefits for me:

    1. scopes for color correction
    2. nested projects (yes this is a big one for me)
    3. Better performance (I am up grading my machine but currently it is a 6 core with 1 gig amd GPU)
    4. Able to send projects to resolve for grading (and thus Fusion)

I was worried about MAGIX intent as they do currently have a very good NLE...but they seem very committed in growing Vegas Pro.

Video is hard enough without losing 8 years of "muscle memory", so for now VegasPro (and I might keep upgrading MS) is the path I am staying on. Lots of discussion on DVXuser and creative cow on this offer.
