Some thoughts on the G9 after a couple days (long)

Just a note...I have been strolling around Budapest all weekend in off-on light drizzle and temps in 30-40s. No appreciable battery life difference that I noticed and I do use the boost mode.

This is not my first time out in snotty weather with the G9/12-60 combo. I honestly didn't think about it .

I didn't buy the kit with the 12-60 Leica but am looking at some new ones on ebay. Seems people buy the kit and break it up for some reason. Been lusting after that lens. And I need to go through the manual and start learning more about the camera.

Any good recommended user guides?

The David Thorpe book is pretty good. The latest pubs from Panasonic detailing the AF system are pretty good. One of the pro users i follow...Daniel Cox...is an excellent source of info. And of course the shooters on this forum

**edit**The PL12-60 is most assuredly not a kit lens. Somebody else put it really well as a "f2.8 12mm with a 13-60 f4 zoom attached" . It's a perfect match for the G9 and it rarely comes off mine.
