Took my G3 along with me to shoot some college hoops. Was originally going to use it as just a wide-angle camera for group huddles and time-outs, but decided to throw on my new (thanks JamesL) 45-200 for ****s-and-gigs. Overall, it was interesting. The non-flashed shots were at ISO6400, 1/250, F/5.6, the flashed were ISO800-1000, 1/160, F/5.6.

AF is really the limiting factor here (and 1/160 sync speed). One thing I need to figure out is how to disable the image review in the viewfinder. That was annoying

Which focus mode were you using?

Image review is in the menu - mine is off

AFC this time. I'll look around on how to disable image review. That caused more problems than anything else.

It was a good game though!

There are a number of reports that AFS works better. AFC doesn't offer any real tracking improvement, but a lot of shutter lock out.
