I have a GH2, that I love and bought for video projects. But it turns out that stills are fun too...

So, I started looking for something a little smaller, and more expendable than the GH, to take on my motorcycle trips.

Since I have a few ยต4/3 lenses, and with the GX1 bodies selling at the $250 mark, how could I not pick that?

Leaving on a four day trip next week...can't wait to give it a workout.

Congratulations! You're right, how could you pass up the GX1 at these prices? I use my 14mm and 20mm pancakes almost exclusively on that camera. If you find the optional LVF-1 EVF on sale, you'll find it can be a useful thing to have in your bag.

Steve...Since I am sitting here waiting for the battery to charge, (and wondering why the battery is different than my GH2), tell me about the bike in your avatar...
It's hard to see in the small picture and I am not sure what it is.

I think you mean LVF2. It's my understanding that the LVF1 EVF is not compatible with the GX1.

Look like a BMW 1200R

Biro will have to confirm though.

It did look like a BMW, and since one of my bikes is a K1100RS, I was curious.

Oops, sorry... I got busy and forgot to check back. The bike in question is a 2004 BMW R1150R. I have both the high and low seat options for it and the two system bags. 2004 was the year BMW's optional, first-generation, servo-assisted, anti-lock braking system came out. I insisted that my machine not be equipped thusly.

    Very nice...:2thumbs:

So I have the GX1. And we are taking the K-bike on a 4 day ride through the twisty roads of SW Wisconsin next Thursday....
Time to get to know it.

Excellent. Let us know how it goes with the new camera. I've considered the 14-42 powerzoom for my GX1 but have always held off. But it seems like a decent travel option to me. As I said, I currently use only the 14 and 20mm pancakes on mine.

Sorry...I should have mentioned that we are both relatively good.
Wife broke her ankle, I broke my thumb...other than that, sprains and bruises....
Could have been much worse and we are glad we wear full gear.

Full gear is very important indeed. I got T-Boned on my bike (ex bike) once and if it weren't for helmet I wouldn't be writing this.

Either way hope you guys are recovering fine :)
