Snap & Infinity focus via firmware for Pens?

Is it possible for a firmware update to allow snap and infinity focus settings for Oly Pens, similar to those available on Ricoh cameras? Or do interchangeable lenses make it impossible?

In theory it is possible, however because of the tolerance between body/lens combination you will have different infinity with different lenses+camera combination. Your 14-42mm on your camera may give a different infinity on another's camera

A camera with fixed lens can do that because all the measurement/tolerance is done before the camera ships, so there's no margin for error to snap focus to a certain point.

Cameras do report the focusing distance in Exif but you will quickly see it's WAY off in almost every cases.
