Check out the PL25 review at SLRGear
Panasonic Lens: Primes - Panasonic 25mm f/1.4 ASPH Leica DG SUMMILUX - SLRgear.com!

    It bests the 20/1.7
    Panasonic Lens: Primes - Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 ASPH LUMIX G (Tested) - SLRgear.com!

This should not be a surprise, as the 20/1.7 is a pancake, and is cheaper, but it does show that Panny continues to up the game on m43 lenses. This lens is in full size DSLR performance territory, IMO, at least for sharpness. I'd like to see the MTF charts, and can't wait to test it out.

nice to see that Panny has made two good lenses with their own niche

For about $600 more it should be better.

This is the new Panny m43 PL25. It's $599 vs. $329 for the 20/1.7, so only $270 more.

It's only $200 more =) This is the new m43 PL25, not the older 4/3s one.

Seems like it's a new gold standard for m43 now. Razor sharp across all apertures with no visible diffraction. Some CA is taken care of by Panasonic bodies. Great news for m43 system. Olympus is lagging behind quite a bit in m43 lens quality. Optical company my a$$. I don't think I'll be buying 25mm because it's not nearly as compact as 20mm and the FL is more limiting. At $599 it seems like it's going to be the cheapest Leica lens ever made.

Have you seen the 12mm? That's by far the biggest m43 wonder so far, though it's priced too high.

I do agree, though, most of their lenses have not been "outstanding", though to be fair, two of them are collapsible, which is a great feature for some, but that will compromise optical quality. I think the 9-18 is a great lens given it's size and the 12mm is outstamding. The 14-150 isn't bad, given it's zoom range.

Forgot about 12mm, thanks for reminding. Better late than never. Only in m43 Leica lenses are cheaper than Olympus, lol.

yeah, but given he was originally saying it was near 300% more (based on MSRPs)... only 82% more sounds great =)
