Anyone have suggestions for a video player to handle slow-motion and frame-by-frame playback of 50p or 60p Panasonic video formats?

Sound is not necessary. But ability to set "time zero" frame and show elapsed time for the frame is.

    Free is also very good.

The best free video player I've found to date for this task is the MiDAS Player, but the video must be converted to AVI format first.

Free MiDAS Player - Xcitex Inc.

Ideally would like to be able to use footage straight from the camera.

I've never tried to set 'time zero' on VLC, but it does handle frame-by-frame and slowmo on all footage I've tried, GH1 and GH2, 120fps from my GoPro etc. it's free, so give it a try.
