    Hi

the initial framework loads in a blink, but then it takes about 10 ~ 30 seconds for the bits like the top of page row to load and the content to fill in ... before even any thread is opened.

I suspect there is something happening with the document.ready() stuff ... being held up

Anyone else experience slow site loading? Seems okay here.

No special issues from my viewpoint; my ISP is throttling my up and downloads but everything else is OK.

I wonder if the notifications addon I installed could be causing a performance issue.

It felt like the server was down/overloaded or something.. The header would load and then it would freeze up before loading any content. Then 10+ seconds later content would load. I experienced it off and on last night, as well as a couple hours ago.

The main page loads completely in 3 to 4 seconds, submenu is virtually instantaneous (Firefox, Windows 7).

Similar for me today; not consistently slow, but off and on it loads the headers and/or top frames but no content initially.
I've noticed it more when loading pages other than the main homepage...

No problem for me. Takes about 3 seconds to load the page.

For non image pages I am at about a second. For the image pages maybe 2-3.

It is fast and working well AFAICT. I have a pretty fast connection though.

    guess?
FWIW I'm still failing to load all photos and frequently have to hit reload to get rid of the jpg placeholders.

    2.8mbps download

Hi can you tell if they're images hosted here, or elsewhere?

    Thanks

If it happens again and you're using (or willing to use) Chrome, please post screenshots of the waterfall plot from Chrome > Developer Tools > Network tab like this:

    slow.
