This is a frivolous aesthetics question.

I've just ordered a G5, and decided I really liked the look of the silver body. But, all my lenses are black. For those of you with silver cameras, do your black lenses look unbalanced or out of place on the silver body?

Back when I was a kid, all the bodies where silver and most of the lenses where black.

I have a silver GX1 with the PL 25mm on it at the moment, it looks pretty darn nice.

I don't like the silver on the G5, looks cheap and got that 'spray painted' look. I wish they would have it in the darker silver the GX1 came in.

I think the G5 looks pretty cool in white though.

Silver and black are the way to go ... I'm not even a Raiders fan neither.

Except for the 17mm pancake all my lenses are black. Bodies are all silver.

Kristi... I think the silver looks great on the G5, with black or silver lenses. A black lens picks up on the black features of the camera. That's what my wife and I each ordered, as well.

Camera looks are just a personal, subjective thing and sure don't mean much when the pedal meets the metal. At one time I selected black bodies to minimize the possibility of my camera reflecting back off of reflective surfaces with commercial work I was doing. Don't care about that now that I am again an amateur shooter.

You'll never be happy buying what you think other people may like. Buy what you like, enjoy your choice, and ignore what others like.

Silver plastic has a tendency to look cheap quite often. Nothing work than plastic trying to pretend to be metal!
Haven't seen the G5 in silver though, to be fair.

You can never go wrong with black.

Actually, I canceled the silver and ordered the black.

Now I just have to wait for it! Shouldn't be too long now.

I have the black GX1 and it looks great, the silver GX1 has some black parts, so it wouldn't have looked bad with black lenses anyway.

I have a black GX1 and my Oly45mm looks SUPERB on it. Black + Silver is always a winner.
