    (Long-ish story, skip to the images if not interested :biggrin:).

    I tend to shoot images of people who are almost always near me - thus, I have the 17mm, 20mm, and the kit lens (14-42), plus a Canon FD 50mm.

    However, one night we got to talking about my kid who will be in Kindergarten and thought of those times where they'll be on stage performing and I might be far back among the audience. So I got to thinking, maybe I should consider buying a longer lens. But always the price vs how often will I use it comes back.

    Then I realized I have a well-reviewed zoom lens for my Canon XSi - a Sigma DC 55-200 f/4-5.6. So I got my E-PL1, put on the lens+adapter, mounted a tripod, and looked at the mess that is my house. Here are the images (all wide-open), taken RAW then used Lightroom to adjust (a little WB and contrast) and then export as JPG.

    @ the wide end (55mm)

    @the long end (200mm)

    I think this lens satisfies my need, and this doused cold water on my thoughts of buying a long native lens - unless I somehow change my style and start shooting at that focal length. :smile:

    Both @93mm ISO 200 1/250 -0,3ev
    E-PL2    ---    200mm    f/5.6    1/320s    ISO 200

    E-PL2    ---    140mm    f/5.1    1/320s    ISO 200

    E-PL2    ---    140mm    f/5.1    1/320s    ISO 200

    Overall, acceptable for its price and for me it really had a great value than ZD 40-150 MK II
