It arrived this morning, so attached to the em1 as soon as I got home, looking for a portrait. Wife refused, luckily dopey cat obliged. No care in taking these, just set at P, pointed and pressed. I love it already.

These images are fantastic, the rendering this lens produces looks great!

Im a few months out from picking one up, but for those who have handled both do you prefer the Sigma 56mm or the Oly 75mm F1.8? I can get the Sigma new for about the same price as the Oly used with some hunting.

The Olympus is great for parades and outdoor portraits, but you not so great for candid shots because you have to stand so far away. The Sigma is easier to work with in that regard. Otherwise, I think the output is pretty similar.

Ill have to check my statistics and see what FL I shoot more. I dont really do much portrait work, even for fun just yet. Most of my shooting seems to be on the extremes of my Pro zooms.
The 75 wouldnt be too bad if I paired it with a used 45F1.8 and ive seen them for $120-150, granted thats half a stop less and 2 lenses...

So many decisions.

One thing I've noticed with the new software (forum) if you want to see the uploaded image in all its detailed glory, click on the image, then hit the full screen icon up the top right, then click the zoom "+" icon. Spectacular :)

Edit -I think the icon I meant is actually the "open in a new tab" one
