Just got mine. No time for portraits yet. The distant bokeh is pretty good but the high contrast OOF transition is a little funky...

f/1.4 is a bit overkill sometimes...

very nice. how does this compare to the 42.5 f1.7 panny? i'm thinking of getting this lens, but i already have the 42.5. a little too close in focal length?

Long discussion about the 56mm here, with first user experiences from about page 11 onwards:
Sigma 56mm f1.4 DC DN

The short of it is that this lens is superbly sharp even at f/1.4, and even perfectly usable out towards the edges (which of course improves as you stop down). The focal length is definitely too close to the 45mm f/1.8 (I've sold mine) and probably close enough to the 42.5mm f/1.7 that it's other factors that will determine which is preferable.

A few images I shared on the other thread. A bit of flaring, but I am very pleased with the performance of this lens!

Do any of you have the 16mm f1.4 and could give me an opinion on their relative AF speed?

I use the Sigma 16mm f1.4 on the EM1.2 and I'm thinking about getting this lens as the kids get older I find my working distance from them increasing and the amount of cropping I'm doing is growing as the 16 is starting to feel to wide for the oldest.

Not sure why they are uploading in this orientation, this was my first few shots with my new sigma 56 @f1.4 also using two flashes for the first time bouncing them off the wall and ceiling. These are straight out of camera with no editing at all.

Finally getting used to the focal length, still loving the look of the lens. The 16/30/56 trio is really wonderful and well balanced in terms of how their angles of view work off each other. So glad Sigma is part of the L mount consortium.

All shots at F2 using a single flash with 26” soft box for fill. Not sure why my photos always load side ways on here.
