Some shots I took today on a Sigma 30mm F2.8 DN A lens on my Olympus E-P3.

Made a new thread because I only saw the older EX thread listed.

These were taken in Downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, as there's Art Prize (artprize.org) going on right now.

Linked is a 1280x960 under, as well as a 100% crop (1280x960 cropped out of the original size).

I just purchased a nice copy of the 30mm Sigma Art lens and noticed something slightly similar - for critical focusing, with the lens wide open, I've found it easier, initially, to switch to M/Manual focus mode - to get the exact focus I need.

Obviously each camera sets focus in different ways; your P-3 does it differently than my Lumix GX7. I suspect that if I play around with the auto-focus points and figure them out, then this will solve the problem, for me at least.

And not having a 60mm Sigma, I can't compare them; but I will say, simply that this lens is both superbly sharp - and also capable of a wide dynamic range, even in challenging lighting conditions.

Thanks for starting this thread. I suspect that there may be enough differences between the newer 'Art' iteration of this lens - and the older one - that a new thread is justified.

Taken wide open at f/2.8 to play around with the bokeh potential of the lens.

    In the Pear Orchard

Three more shots taken with my Sigma 30mm A(rt) lens - all in a local southern Oregon pear orchard, near the small town where I live.

The first - with an abandoned tire in the foreground - was also shot wide open, at maximum aperture -

The second - with a wider FOV of orchard boxes and trees - was shot at f/5.6 - but then processed in Nik's Analog Efex using some slight defocusing effects of background trees & clouds to emphasize the main subject -

The third and last, also processed with Nik's Analog Efex, shows an important aspect of life in the fields which, if you've never picked fruit in an orchard, you might not be aware of -

The 30mm Sigma is my favorite food lens, I use it almost all the time for work. This was taken at home though http://julifoto.ch/blog/doch-noch-ein-bisschen-sommer/
(Have to figure out how to embed/integrate pix into the forum).

Kind regards and thanks for watching

    A few more - Tractor & Trailer

Haven't used this lens for awhile, but just got it out and mounted it on my compact Lumix GX1 body....the results have been quite cool.

This is a monochrome conversion of a RAW file - taken at a local trailer park, of an old unused tractor -

And here the full-on color version of the same tractor, parked in front of a rather colorful trailer -

Some really beautiful pictures to let this lens shine... congrats.
The Sigma 30 mm is my favorite food lens. I usually use the lens for paid work but here's a private work sample picture.

Definitely the Sigma 19, 30 and 60 lenses are the best bang for your buck. I have used all three but own only the 60/2.8. I am anxious to see what Sigma will release next.

Some great shots in this thread. I won a used one from ebay at the weekend. It will be nice to have something between the P20 and O45.

Another portrait of the same subject, my mother-in-law, in a reflective moment - this one processed as a monochrome image -

Couple years old, but since they were shot with the lens, adding.

The last one is my son Karl getting upset when I tried to give him my phone to shoot with at the gardens, and he wanted to use my E-P3 or as he said "The real camera".
