    Hi everyone,

I'm quite a newbie to m4/3 photography. I took the plunge and sold all of my Canon FF gear just last month so I could afford a complete m4/3 kit: E-M5, E-PL3, Pana 12-35mm f/2.8, Oly 40-150, Samyang 7,5mm fisheye... Being a hobbyist there was no way for me to afford both systems at the same time.

Sicily was my first trip with those cameras, the "big test". I spent most of the time with the fisheye mounted on the E-PL3 and the 12-35 on the OM-D in order to avoid switching lenses in dusty places.

I'm very pleased with the combo, and I feel like the shots I've taken home are some of my best work yet. I've actually received some exceptional feedback on Flickr as well, which really reassures me in the fact that my decision to switch to m4/3 was the right thing to do.

If I had to keep just one, it would be this one:
    (Cefalù, north coast, sunset)

    And then, there was Catania:

Palermo left me as cold as stone:

We also visited a few greek temples:

The last day was spent in the magnificent city of Taormina, with Mount Etna in the background:

The whole trip is available as an album on Flickr.

I take this opportunity to thank Mu-43 and all the community here ; seeing your photos and talking with some of you definitely helped in the decision-making, and I'm very happy I walked away from my big heavy DSLR gear.

Oh man. Those shots just make me happy. I went to Italy for my honeymoon and can't wait until the kids are a little older so I can take them too...

    Very nice.
Getting the sun just behind something looks great, do you bracket exposure or use fill-flash or bring the shadows up in processing later?

Thanks everyone for your positive feedback!

I rarely bracket exposures - 12 IL is plenty already on the E-M5, and I always shoot RAW exclusively. I process with Lightroom and just bring the shadows up, I find the files of the E-M5 are actually great for that - even better than those of my (now sold) 5D MkII. As a downside, there's less highlight detail, so I have to adapt and rather under-expose than over-expose.

The first two pics were processed using Silver Efex 2 though - I find it's a great plugin for getting a good B&W conversion with minimal effort. You can also apply local corrections - on the first shot I had to bring up the people on the balconies some more actually, separately.
