Hi, not sure what the golden rainbow is, but a few days of sunlight by a window occasionally should halt the growth.

Over The Golden Rainbow (OTGR) is an online euphemism for a pet dying - mainly cats. I will have to add the lens to my pile of infected lenses (kept well apart from my other lenses) - I don't have the heart to throw them out. Might be a good excuse to practise dismantling one

I think I've got another E 50 in a dry box - inspecting this one made me fall for this lens all over again - tiny, well made & with a little heft to it. Will have to track down another one.

what is "old" in digital days?
to me this 2004 camera is already old, no more use cases and company gone.
The Sanyo J4 was my travel mate for a long time.
In the pre-smartphone era it took some good pictures and was capable of close-ups with led light.
No extruding lens and pretty fast.
Including a selfie mirror
Even the video clips in VGA where good.
