Blade detail on my CRKT Saker bushcraft knife. I did my own acid wash using apple cider vinegar, it's easy to do: wrap the blade loosely with paper towels and get them good and saturated with vinegar, leave in the sink leaning upward (so the handle doesn't get messy) and you're done. You can see the protective finish isn't quite all eaten away, resulting in the mottled coloration. This is a Scandinavian grind blade, meaning there is no secondary bevel, so you sharpen along the angle of the main blade grind. It makes for a super sharp, though rather delicate, edge.

Note really a collector, but here you go. The leftmost was my Grandfathers. He was in the Highland Light Infantry and Royal Scots in WW1. The middle was a souvenir purchase in Alaska last year. Alaska had some amazing, beautiful, Damascus steal knives with so many amazing options for the handle finishes. Way above what I would spend, but I really did drool over them. I mean, Wooly Mammoth Tooth Fossil sides!!!

I've been buying Japanese kitchen knives for about 7 years now and find them thinner, lighter and easier to sharpen that other knives. The four knives below are all hand forged.

A knife photo thread...giddy up.
I’m a collector and photograph knives more than anything else. Apologies in advance for the spam. I’ll be posting here a lot.

Here are some closeup shots I did with the 60mm macro after getting my Micro Four Thirds gear last year.

Here’s a nifty one I snagged from a maker in Germany: Wilkins Leafstorm 9

He used to make aftermarket scales for some Benchmade and Spyderco models but doesn’t do it anymore.

I’ve been waiting a while for these Lego figures to arrive so I could take this stupid photo. Marge took forever. No regrets.

This photo is epic! I find it funny how truly horror-inducing the Simpsons characters look as soon as you get any hint of contour and/or texture via lighting or shadow on their misshapen noggins. Just the hint of a highlight on Homer's forehead is enough to do it, reminds me of those terrifying "realistic" Simpsons renders. Google at your peril.
