I remember seeing lots of machines loaded on trucks like that leaving Pratt Whitney in CT to be loaded on ships in Bridgeport harbor to take them to China in the late 80's.

Skelton's Weldless Nail Rake

This is a Cyanotype; I made a digital negative in Ps, printed it onto OHP film, coated the cartridge paper with the Cyan emulsion, when dry the neg and the paper are put together into a contact printing frame and exposed to a UV light source, once cleared the print was toned in Wine Tannin which puts back the missing highlights and colours the print. The resultant print is permanent.

They are coming the other way these days.
And in the UK as well, they run 24/365 they do their own second ops, phone you at home when they are running out of bar, auto change tools when they go beyond tolerance and auto get in touch with the mfr in the event of a software glitch. I know families that put up their houses against one machine. Now they'll buy an old farmhouse and use a barn like structure to house the machines.

I was leaning against the first one I ever came across and noticed that the Siemans readout said 5,000. Is that the revs I said in astonishment yes they said, I couldn't feel anything through my elbow, all machine tolerances at zero. Then they showed me how the 2nd op chuck swapped hexagon bar components completely in register and at 5,000 revs.

Those 18,000 PA engineering graduates coming out of Beijing universities are beginning to show their metal you might say.

Such is life.
