SHOW: Your Flag! Challenge (with extras....)

It appears to me that the MU-43 forum is composed of a wide ranging group.

I've stopped being surprised by the exotic locations that are represented here on the forums, which led to this idea.

There are extras with this challenge.

Post in the thread as per your usual method, then if you choose to:

1. I've created a Mobile me Gallery which you can also upload your photo to via browser: It's here: MobileMe Gallery

The Mobile me gallery is open for upload and download, as well as viewing whenever you so choose.

2. You can also upload directly from your cell phone or mobile device to a special email address: It's here: alanroseman-1s3m@post.me.com

Upon completion, (if ever) or on occasion I'll download and place all of the collected flag photos from the mobile me site to my Gallery here at MU-43.

For those members in the USA, sorry. I hogged the USA flag, but there's nothing wrong with multiple images of any nations flag either! Feel free to get a shot of your State flag to as that would be very cool and I'd love to see them!

For the rest of the seemingly vast MU-43 forum world... it's a free for all. I know every nation has a flag, but I'm unsure of regions within those nations and republics. So lets see them all if we can..

If your flag has a nick name or fond reference lets hear that too!

Every year for the Fourth of July, Independence Day her in the United States, my husband puts the flag up at the end of our street and it usually stays there through Labor Day... That's one of our neighbor's cars - he's got his own limousine service.

Every State, Country, Town, City, College, High School, Republic- has a flag!

Capturing the "let's roll" t-shirt exemplifies the mood and spirit following the 9/11 tragedy.

I recognize the famous "Lone Star" flag and of course USA. What are the other flags depicted in the Texas shot... in the first photo one of them almost looks like Ferrari...

THAT, is a very good question. None that I've ever heard used - "the flag" is probably as personal as we get with it as far as I know. I don't think the Australian Flag is considered as symbolic as the American Flag for example, and most of that is to do with the big Union Jack in the top left corner. There has been a movement around for ages to change the flag from it's current form, but I would be sad to see the old flag go.

Interesting remark. You note that Texas celebrates all the flags of its heritage proudly. I'll admit to wondering how seeing the Union Jack on ones flag might feel.

Is there a general ambivalence toward it because of the icon?

It's an oldie but was taken the first time I went to Boston Commons. I was just surprised how blue the sky was that day.
