One more old friend passed away. Losing friends that way is a fate when oneself is getting older.
His widow gave me his camera for a try to sell it.
It was built by Chinon, designed by AGFA Germany - look at the red release button.
Amazingly it is in mint condition, just like the matching leather case .
I replaced the batteries (fortunately the old ones did not leak),
I switched the camera on, and it worked perfectly.
Body and lens have a Pentax K mount.
May be I keep it for myself as a reminder in my old friend.

Yes, keep it as a reminder, and because it is pretty gorgeous!

Acquired in the last month. The Canon A1 has a squeaky shutter sound, and I have to pluck up the courage to fix it. I also got three Minolta Dynax models, 404, 505 and a 5!!! I am loca!

Yashica 124G, from around 1974, according to the serial number.
It's one of my favourite cameras; especially when stopped down to f/8-f/16.

I've got my dads 'S' but the shutter is sticky. Picked up another one - great nick apart from a viewfinder housing chip. Comes with the cutest little lens-hood.

I bought a new 124G in the box in 1974 for $85.00. It had been ordered by someone at the BX at a base where I was stationed. I never used it and sold it for $130.00. I wish I would have kept it.

I have Two of these Canon A2 cameras. One with the grip and one without. I have found a good product for restoring the finish to like new condition. It is called Howard Feed and Wax, works great.
