Yesterday.... I didn't bring my camera, and it was a most amazing day! Didn't think I would take a trip in the nature but couldn't resist. I should have had my UWA Laowa. But instead used my phone, 11 photos, stitched together and some Ps to get stitch errors fixed. The "Liquify" function is like magic sometimes. Turned out quite good. Can barely see them even though I know where to look :)

Has anyone here ever taken a walk around their local pond, shot 120+ pictures with their EM1iii and various lenses, and then load them all to their iPad only to find the best shot of the whole bunch was taken with their iPhone? Asking for a friend...

These are off the car's rear dash camera of some skater on an electric skateboard following me in town. Seems he controls it with some hand unit. He was getting up to 35 MPH and finally passed me at a light. It's near Cal Poly University so no doubt some techie turned loose.

Several from our September holiday in Scarborough, North Yorkshire this year - all SOOC except for the last one where I PP'd out a touch of headland on the horizon:

This is a public service announcement: allways shoot RAW with your smartphone if such option exists.

During last few months AI Denoise software (DxO & Topaz) has finally reached a point where it's worth the effort to actually post process smarphone RAW images expecially if you don't have the latest $1000€ plus model which can do it in-body. Unfortunately even the latest PC softfare can't fix with the fact that smartphone camera lens is a round 5mm piece of clear "Hello Kitty"-plastic but the difference is still substantial.

Since my old Samsung S9+ can shoot both jpg and DNG at the same time, here's the comparison (0,7MP crop from the center of 12MP original)

Original ISO 800 JPG from smartphone (lossless crop made with with Ifranview)

Same ISO 800 image but DNG file which was denoised with Topaz and processed with Darktable (freehand crop but I hope it's almost identical size)

Strangely smartphone JPG software is trained to detect and sharpen whiskers (which are sharper and evenly denoised on original jpg) but nothing else. Is there some facial feature which might require such intelligence?

Haylie, the older girl, with the ball she retrieved but prefers to keep it rather than chasing it
