My wife and I went for a walk this evening and I happened to see this on the sidewalk just before she would have stepped on it. Had to look it up but it appears to be a Polyphemus Moth. I don't think I've ever seen one before. We managed to pick it up and put it on some shrubs in our back yard. It certainly is a beautiful moth.

Was a bit too exhausted and in too much of a hurry to pull my GM1 out while scurrying across a ridge in Death Valley. Quick snap with an iPhone SE and processed in LR. Lots of nice clouds that day.

From my morning walk. iPhone 11. Unretouched. There was a nice sunrise. I could see these cranes from across the street on Apple's new $1B campus. The best view was through this fence around a condo complex. Slightly grainy as I had to zoom in.

On my morning walk along the walking trail in our neighborhood. iPhone 11. Unretouched. There was a bit of mist over the grass and the sun was rising.

. There is a tree with a large branch that arches over the walking trail. I was walking through as the sun was rising and grabbed this photo.

It was a burning hot day, one of the many this year. A walk along a lake promenade was promising, but honestly the broadwalk was heating from the ground up. Only when the clowds arrived, they brought some shadow, wind and relief.
When I edited this capture on my phone I knew it was all about the contrast of harsh light and deep shadow. B&W was stronger than the various blue tones. But in the process I followed less the relief from the day but more the thought that was coming out of the capture: Is a deep shadow the best thing you can get on a hot day?

If to get late home from work, then like that - don't you think?

Yesterday.... I didn't bring my camera, and it was a most amazing day! Didn't think I would take a trip in the nature but couldn't resist. I should have had my UWA Laowa. But instead used my phone, 11 photos, stitched together and some Ps to get stitch errors fixed. The "Liquify" function is like magic sometimes. Turned out quite good. Can barely see them even though I know where to look :)
