Ivoire:

I really like your picture.

But I've got to say...I have given MANY years of my (decades long) professional career to the engine you mention, and your picture is not it!

Nonetheless, I've also given similar time to the awesome propulsion system that is in your picture...

Is that Udvar Hazy? I have always wanted to go there but it's too many thousand miles away.
Yes its the Udvar Hazy center. Soooo many aircraft! It's the best aeronautic museum I've ever seen. Must have got the wrong engine title and can't find what it was used in. Do you know?

It's the engine in the VTOL version of the F35

Beat me to it!

I think the aircraft at Udvar Hazy is the X-35B Concept Demonstrator Aircraft from 2001, in which case the engine is probably a Pratt & Whitney F119 (can't remember the model number). The production jet uses a P&W F135 engine. In both cases, all the extra hardware bolted on the front back and sides for STOVL operations comprises the Rolls-Royce Lift System, including the shaft driven LiftFan on the front.

Departures at Hobby Houston

OM-D E-M5 & Pana 100-300

Departures at Hobby Houston. Seems 75% of all flights at Hobby are Southwest Airlines and now they are building an International terminal there for Southwest !!!

Seems that here on the Gold Coast (Australia) that the yearly car races have started.

It was just going on dusk and I heard the roaring of aircraft, so I bolted up stairs and got this shot

Roulettes, right?
Yep :)

for what its worth, this is a 100% pixel crop from the plane in that. I processed this one a bit differently (gah the colour issues of processing)

As a new member it is great to know this thread is here. I have countless images of aircraft, mainly commercial, but all in slide or print format. If I copy them with an Olympus E-M1 does that count for this thread?!!

Feel free to post them, this thread is open to photos taken with any camera. Because of the historic nature of these aircraft, many of the photos pre-date M43 cameras. While it's always good to see what our cameras can do, it's also good for us to be reminded that great photos were being taken long before digital and autofocus were even thought of.

...And welcome to the forum! I'm anxious to see your photos.
