Seattle II - Replica of the Seattle, one of the four Douglas World Cruisers that set out to fly around the world in 1924. Recently rolled out of the hanger for taxi test.
Eventually the Seattle II will be flown around the world to commemorate the 1924 flight.

Udvar Hazy is such an amazing place to visit. That's Bob Hoover's Aero Commander Shrike under the wing of the Concord. It's one of my favorite planes in the museum, I guess because I got to see him fly it years ago.
A very appropriate post for Memorial Day. When you consider how primitive these aircraft were by modern standards, it's incredible that the pilots and crews were able to do so much with so little. Very nice photographs, thank you for posting them.
