Wild flowers in the wild only. No arboretums, greenhouses, lawns or otherwise artificially cultivated allowed. You gotta get out there in the wild!

Just barely getting to be that time of year again here in the N. Hem. So I'll start off with two from last spring...

Oxalis, with a little wild radish and wild mustard thrown in, near San Marcos Creek.

I don't know what it is about this image, but it's not nearly as compelling as it was to be there with yellow wildflowers carpeting the ground in front of me. I've tried to photograph this wildflower patch several times but never come away satisfied. Still, I really like the idea of this thread and I wanted to contribute something.

Edit - I located a tiny white flower and used it for spot white balance. Then I set default saturation rather than my usual -1, disabled global and local contrast enhancement, backed off sharpening, and replaced the image. It sure is easy to get carried away with postprocessing. The result reminds me more of being there.

Two from along the Royal Canal in the midlands in Ireland, I think that counts as wild now because it's been there since 1817!

A type of stork's bill. An invasive that blooms here year-round. Still, it's nice to come across a bit of color in winter.
