I'm not aware that I'd ever seen (or even heard of) this before and after photographing it, it took some identifying in our wildflower books.
It transpires it's not that rare, being common on sandy grassland, but we believe it to be 'Dove's foot cranesbill' Geranium Molle.

This Spring it seams that I'm chasing Trilliums. Trilliums are the official flower for the Province of Ontario (Canada).

The next one exhibits a green coloration in the petals that is caused by a bacterial parasite (Phytoplasma).

and the red Trillium. The first I noticed one was a year ago, I've since noticed that they are fairly common ... at least where I live.
