60 stack of sand spurrey (Spergularia). I suspect sticky sand spurrey (S. macrotheca) but there are several variants in the area and there is some debate about hybridization in the literature. This patch has colonized an impacted site, which I suspect is signaling soil pH alteration from past human activity and plausibly also something of a perched catchment from a pan or other soil compaction. It's a harsh site with full sun and last year the spurrey taprooted through rather spectacularly, staying in bloom for months.

another from the spurrey patch, 45 stack with the 12-60 f/3.5-5.6 at 12 mm for a riotous amount of detail and a bit of a different look

That's different than our coltsfoot Jeroen. There's a lot of it blooming around here too. I'll get some photos. In the meantime more Blue-eyed Marys

I don't know many plant names but like to fotograph flowers. This picture started with the idea that the sun-lit grass and the beech bush in the background could create harmonious blur colors.

I used Plantnet to identify the Coltsfoot, and have pasted some text from wikipedia.

Have fun while getting some photos Mike.

Mike and Jeroen,
Tussilago farfara - Colt's-foot

Tussilago, the genus name, is a reference to the reputed ability of Colt's-foot to cure coughs. (The Latin verb Tussere means to cough.) The specific epithet farfara is the ancient Latin name for the wildflower Colt's-foot.

The English common name of this wildflower is written as Coltsfoot in some field guides.
