It is a crucifix that's figure has fallen. It is buried into the earth in the foreground. With heat and time it has folded over 90° backwards, its back flat on the ground. I can't identify the material. It looks rather like Styrofoam having a similar structure but that wouldn't have been able to anchor objects using screws.

Ah, thanks -- the texture reminds me of asphalt and shape reminds me of a parking stop -- didn't get that it was a bent-over cross. Guess we use whatever we have at hand when in need.

E-M1 + Zuiko OM 50mm f3.5 Auto Macro - found an old broken porcelain bowl while digging out the garden a few weeks ago, kept a bit for display. Given my place is a farmers cottage from 1918 I kind of wonder if it isn't an old bed-pan!
