Symmetry in everyday language refers to a sense of harmonious and beautiful proportion and balance, says Wikipedia.
In photography it is much sought after.

I find it hard to position the camera (and one self) in exactly the right geometrical position with according distances and degrees versus the outer edges of the subject.

Show your attempt, accompanied by some technical context.
How many shots for this one keeper, handheld or tripod?, any postprocessing? Using an appropriate lens or other considerations.

I'll start
The structure is a carrillon photographed from the ground.
Handheld. Lens was the Sigma 19mm. I wonder if 19mm is the right FL for this kind of shot.
It was crowded so only shot once. I straightened a bit in LR.

I was going to start a "Show Symmetry" thread, but found this one and am reviving it. I hope that others will post examples and make this a living thread. Here are few I have taken in the past few months:

Architecture is an obvious source

Sometimes we find it in everyday objects and their placement

Nature does pretty well too. 5-fold rotational symmetry.

Posted this in the B&W landscape, but I'll post here, as well.

Details: shot through window while riding an elevated train in Brooklyn. It was hard to find a "clean-enough" section of the window to shoot through, haha.

I am glad you revived it. I remember we discusses the geometry aspect of your first photo before. At the time i had totally forgotten that I started this thread :)

It was that discussion which had got me thinking about starting a thread as well. So it was good that I found yours. I hope that this time the thread will attract regular posts.

I have two that I'm happy with for the symmetry

The first one was taken from a ropeway car coming down Mt.Misen on Miyajima island. I'm not the biggest fan of heights so was playing with my camera to distract myself and actually came out with a photo I was happy with.

The other one is a photo from a curved reflective sculpture in a park in Fukuoka, when I placed the lens just right against the side it made an almost perfect symmetrical image.
