An incomplete and purchased for parts, german[not singaporean] rollei a110 provided the lens for this"body cap" adapted optic. to achieve perfect infinity focus some shaving of the body cap surface was necessary prior to screwing the nicely made brass housing down .

it has a nice toothed edge and enuf "travel" to be turned from infinity to about 4 inches . its pretty good at normal distances but with extreme shallow focus it gets glowy and less contrasty .

i suspect this is because of the exposed brass of the inside threads reflecting light around inside the lens ,[and also design?] too small to baffle and the problem does not happen when the lens is 15 inches or more from the subject

the lens itself is a 23mm f2.8 design with "made by rollei" and 3043183 engraved on the lens surround.

its fun to play with and its not bad either.

It is quite interesting, do you have photo taking by this lens?

Which must be the most handsome lens I've seen. The finishing touch is provided by the screw heads. Delightful!

110 lenses on GF1. The 70 performs really well, the zoom less so. Zoom converted first to Leica M mount, then adapted via M-m4/3...that tiny 110 mount just doesn't feel adequate for the big zoom.

Seeing all these lovely old lenses attached to MFT bodies has made me think that I may just fit one inside an old full plate field camera, throw over the black cloth and get an assistant to fire off some powder at a "Wild West" location shoot that's coming up...

And could it be even more compact? or does that lens imaging circle match m4/3rds perfectly?

I can honestly say that I have never before seen such a mix of non "same brand" lenses used on any format before - you see the third party lens manufacturers glass used on DSLR's, but the mix of different glass used on micro 4/3rds is amazing.

It is a clear challenge to the third party glass makers to look at some good quality glass in micro 4/3rds fitting..........come on, what are you waiting for - more and faster primes for me please.

It really is "liberating" - and a "sea change" in cam manufacturers attitudes in letting this happen

Dead right Bill, god knows what they would cost if made in the UK, just getting the adapter blackodised here would be more than the cost of most adapters.

Sorry to be pedantic for a moment but Prontor is the (famous) name of the shutter; the lens seems to be "Victar". (But whatever it's called, it's handsome!)

This is my Pentax 50mm f2 from my old Pentax MX. I'm actualy surprised at how well it performs, after one removes the Marumi filter that I'd bought when I got the camera some 30 years ago. I'm currently using a Pentax to 4/3s adapter and the 4/3s to m4/3s adapter, but I've ordered a pentax to m4/3s adapter to save the stuffing around.

I've also got a Sigma 35-70mm Pentax fit zoom, but this just confirms my view of Sigma lenses ie, not good. But then that may be unfair, as zooms of the era weren't really renowned for their quality.

I'm also waiting for a Minolta to m4/3s adapter, so that I can try out my Minolta 50mm f1.4 from my SRT303.

here is my fastest adapted lens using a inexpensive but nicely made 30 dollar chinese adapter......... konica AR to m4\3, its actually surprisingly good wide open .

I'm a big fan of adapting Nikkor glass to the G1.
I find them to go together well, and they are not overexpensive @ evilbay.

Here's the one that takes the most space in the lenscabinet so far :
Zoom-Nikkor 50-300/4.5 (not the ED version )
