Show us a frame as a composition

An otherwise dull picture can get some meaning by adding a frame, like a couple of trees, an entrance, a hole through which the pic is taken.

And the picture is telling a story, thanks to this frame...

I thought I might have had more pictures with obvious use of a 'frame' as in your examples... but it seems to me that my frame is the edged of the image

If the 'frame' is part of the scene, then it is ok as far as I am concerned.

Where is the frame in this scene?

I was thinking the dock crane was framed on each side by the building and the submarine/fence and the ground on the bottom ... three sided maybe?

I will remove it but given it is questionable.

I was only asking and had no intention that the photo had to be removed.
Now you have removed it, I can not give comment how questionable it was

#1 and # 2 are perfect examples.
#3 is special because the subject is in front of the frame.
same for #4, but in this case the subject is not wholly encompassed by the frame. On the other hand, IMHO this is the best of the 4 pics.
