I'd forgotten I had these in my camera as it was the day of my "altercation on the beach" that some of you may remember.
These were taken (with my Olympus TG5) during Storm Aiden, which hit our coast last month.
To be honest, 2 metre waves were forecast, so it was a bit disappointing to see the sea fairly flat, but messy all the same.

I liked the way the foam had surrounded this mini-mountain on the beach.

This looked like mostly natural materials being washed ashore.

While this one wasn't.

And frankly seeing this was awful. Virtually every piece you see over this area of a couple of square feet here was plastic!

Though I'm not sure where this monster came from.

 This is Wales in winter.
Air temperature was around 4 degrees C; sea temperature perhaps twice that.
Hardy souls, but the squealing and screaming when they got in was a joy to hear. :dance3:

There was even a lady further along the coast splashing around in her bikini.

I find it hard to get a decent shot of kiteboarders because the kite is always so far away from the sailor when they are going for speed, and when they're going for air the kite is always too far directly above them, almost forcing a vertical hold or crop. Of course close up action shots of the sailors are ok but they lose part of the story by not including the sail.

The real story here is these guys were out having a ball in 39F degree temperatures today.

The last few shots from July.
This is the old slate quarry near Abereiddi in North Pembrokeshire.
It's known to locals as the Blue Lagoon, as can be seen from the colour of the water (though I see it more of an iridescent green  ).
Some of the outdoor pursuits companies in the area claim to have invented the sport of "Coasteering", where participants either swim or kayak around the coast and when the occasion arises, climb up onto the rocks and cliffs and jump back into the sea.
Here in the lagoon it's just the brave ones who climb up alongside the old quarry buildings and jump in.
Given my fear of heights, I was having enough trouble getting these shots from the clifftop walk above the lagoon.
From around 100 feet up and with a howling wind, I was a nervous wreck myself.

For those with a stronger disposition, the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series, visited in 2012, 2013 and 2016.
They fasten a board onto the cliff face and jump from there. If you g**gle The Blue Lagoon Abereiddi you'll see a photo on there from the top platform. :wtf:

Oh!!!!
I saw one land not so gracefully. Didn't seem to phase him though.
I'll stay on dry land thanks.

Beautiful place for looking at
