The biggest mountains that we know to have existed were the MacDonnell Ranges in central Australia. They are about 1,000 feet high, these days ...

Intriguing shot Phil.
That looks like a dried-up river bed.
Is it, as I know there are a few in the Peak District?
Or, could it be an old packhorse route. :hmmm:

This one is from the Lake District Brian. It is in the Borrowdale Valley near Castle Crag. I couldn't say if its natural or man made to be honest.
Castle Crag was a slate mine so maybe the miners made the track to get the slate out.

I posted one near there from 395 earlier in this thread. Not sure exactly where...
Well that’s Mt. Whitney directly above the right lane, and a view you wouldn’t have actually had on 395. I’d bet money you were here (ish) to get that photo -

Dropped pin
Near California State Rte 136, Lone Pine, CA 93545

It would be 136 coming out of Death Valley and into Lone Pine by the visitor center, just before hitting 395. Nice shot and good lighting in your photo.

Thanks. Yeah, you are correct. We were coming from Stovepipe Wells. But I think maybe farther east on 190. It's just before a curve to the right....
