This lovely scene is in the Trough of Bowland, Lancashire.
I think this particular section of river is called Marshaw Wyre.

The whirlpool below has two local names:
'Coopkamel Hole'
and the rather more lyrical
'The Devil's Mustard Mill'.

Le Tarnon by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

The Tarnon is a rather short river at 39 km. It flows past Florac before flowing into the Tarn. Walking the Chemin de Stevenson you follow the Tarnon for a while. A nice, pleasant experience and oh flat walking!

Chemin de Stevenson-2018-D10-08: Day 10 of 12 – Florac to Gare de Cassagnas: Walking the Chemin de Stevenson (#GR70 Robert Louis Stevenson Trail) in the south of France.

The river Charente, western France. A shot from yesterday morning on the way back from the boulangerie, showing one of the views I'm enjoying since we moved. As it gets warmer I suspect I may throw some crusts in the river to see how big the carp get - rumour has it the local record at 30kgs could be easily bettered :)

I do like the little sprung wooden horse that's been installed in the foreground!

It is, indeed. When I finish the gîte I fully expect some of you to become clients. There is no better place to spend a week in France, tons of photographic opportunities....
