A “classic vehicle” spotted in NYC while dropping daughter off for college this week. Am amazed the Nixon sticker still survives.....

From the R/C glory days when I rewinded this motor to make it more powerful. It was a beast! A Hyperion 4035-560 (same as HK II). Resulting wind was slightly faster also, about 590 kv. Used it initally on a Henseleit TDR helicopter. Still have it with me to remind me of this great time.

Electric motor rotor by Daniel Cederberg, on Flickr
(I thought this was m43, but noticed now it was 43 only, Oly E-3, but whatever, it still counts I think)

nice, what is those vacuum tube-looking things?
Coffee bean containers. The wheels and tubes are old coffee grinders in a shop. I'm not sure they're still in actual use, but the wheels are turning.

... :laugh1: ...ok, almost regret that I asked :) as an electrical engineer I really thought it was some vacuum tubes on an old radio station or something like that :)

Tonight after using the elliptical, its display panel light was still on when I turned off the basement light and I was quite taken with its blue glow.
