As a sequel of the thread '(Rectangular) Filter Guide for Beginners' I think this forum deserves a thread dedicated to photos taken or, if you prefer, made with ND filters.

I start with two photos. Maybe I posted them before.

First one is made with the objective of blur. Long exposure, while franticly moving the camera. This was an OMD, so i used all 5 axis :)
    O17; 1 ND3.0 filter

Second one made to avoid motion. A more common type of use of ND. Not my favorite use of this fiter. I tried to include a subject in the foreground.

Please feel free to post any ND photos and it would be nice if you share what you like or dislike about the photo, what you tried to accomplish.

Photo below is of the Herring Pond llcated in Portstewart. It has small steps leading into the water so i wanted to make it creamy looking almost surreal look. Has been a popular print for me but on the other side of the coin this type of long exposure is not favoured by all.

I tried to capture the feeling of being tired on my return trip from a long bike ride, pausing to admire the view from my shortcut through Beautiful Downtown Burbank® (as opposed to actual downtown Burbank)... I think I ended up feeling like I had overworked these at the time, but looking at them now they don't seem all that bad... 60 seconds each with 10-stopper.

Put this Sl in a plastic box, covered that with a blanket. Turned of all lights. Put a 6 stop-ND filter on my Pentax 50/1.4.
Shot 8 exposures @ f1.4 with different focuspoints. Stacked them all in PS. Dis some PP in LR.

I rarely go out without my filters anymore, even though handling them at -15C (12F) plus windchill is really, really painful on my fingers :( But since we already had the ice building up alongside the river, I wanted to use it for a sunset shot and the ice floating on the river added some interesting texture.

Filters used: Formatt Hitech rectangular filters 0.9 soft grad (for the sky) and 2.4 ND (8 stops) so I could get the effect on the water. Olympus EM 1.1 + 12-40Pro at f9 and 4s.
