Hi folks, :th_salute:
I have seen a few threads related to pictures made on stage....If you fancy the idea, here is one where we could group all our "On stage" pictures. That can be concert, dancing, theatre, your kids, indoor/outdoor ...etc...etc.......even yourself !!

Here is my contribution as a starter.

"Contemporary dance show at elementary school"
A few weeks ago nearby Toulouse, France.

The kids liked it a lot (some did fall asleep though  ) and did aks tons of questions after it.
One cute example : "why do you dance barefoot ?"

Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens

My contribution to this thread is one of my favourites from last year:

Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens at the 2010 Edinburgh Fringe

It should be fairly obvious why the Brothers call me "The Snowman"...

Da Wife....... I guess that's almost the same thing....

Now, what I really want to see is the photos the guitar player took from the stage. Don, I really think (or hope) that should (have) happen(ed). It is a tempting situation and the m4/3 s the perfect camera for it.

The first two pics are from a recording I did for the American Guild of Organists convention in DC. The third and fourth is from a recording I did for a local Symphony.

Cheers-
Jeremy

PS - All pics taken with EPL1 with kit lens except the final photo with a 45-200mm.

PPS - I don't have clearance on the final 2 pics. I'll have to take them down after a couple days.

Well, this is my first crack at taking concert photos using my GF2. Our city has a blues festival every year and this year's headliner on Saturday night was the incredible 74 year old blues guitar legend Buddy Guy. I managed to score VIP tickets and was able to position myself stage-side along with a few other photographers. He actually started playing up to my camera and at the end of the performance tossed me his guitar pick as a souvenir, which I thought was pretty cool.

I took over 700 shots during the performance and here are a few examples, with lens and exposure info:

Panasonic 100-300mm zoom set at 300mm open to f/5.6 at 1/40 sec and ISO 1600.

I know! Buddy was awesome to take photos of. Too bad I didn't have my camera at the U2 concert I attended in Toronto on Monday night. I only had my iPhone 4 and my seat was a little farther back...

After Buddy Guy (thanks for posting !), here's our Belgian international Blues and Jazz Legend : Mister Toots Thielemans !

He made a guest appearance at the annual Christmas Concert in our village La Hulpe.
Unfortunately, I was sitting in a middle row, so I needed my longest fast lens, the famous Samyang 85/1.4 for this shot

I took these last night at a concert with Cody Canada and the Departed. I used my MD Rokkor-X 45mm f/2.0 on the E-PL1. All shots were wide open at a shutter speed of 1/60. The ISO was fairly high on these. I really don't like flash on concert shots because you lose the whole feel of the stage lighting.
