Around 10 years ago, a work colleague found a collection of negs that were in an expensive looking Eastman case that had been thrown into a waste receptacle. He asked if I could do anything with them. I photographed them on a X-ray lightbox and inverted the pics in PS, the quality was excellent. I don't think the photographs of 100 year old negatives breach copyright. The campaign was the Mesopotamian Campaign, I'm happy to share a few - but don't want to breach mod rules or copyright.
Hi, feel free to post a link.
Copyright in the US & UK ends 70 years after the death of the creator, so it's still possible they're copyrighted.
In the US, if the government produced them, they would be public domain, but I don't know about UK.
In theory, ownership of the negatives would suffice, but that didn't go very smoothly in the Vivian Maier case.

Thanks Barry
Here are some of the pics, they're unlikely to be copyrighted, it would make the photographer 120 at least :) They are photographs of negatives, so will have my copyright in the exif. I'm guessing the river is the Tigris.

This is just a few of the forty plus I have

Aviation Nation air show 2016 pics with LX100. Sometimes the lens is not wide enough. Thus, hand held multi shot panorama to get the composition.

Taken the summer of 86 at Mildenhall AFB, England during Pope AFB's Rotation. I stayed inside the cargo compartment as not to draw attention to myself taking pictures of the SR-71 that was taxing behind my plane shortly after parking.

The Boeing X-32 prototype landed at Little Rock AFB during its competition with the Lockheed X-35 and was in need of a little love. It now sits near Pax. River MD along with the X-35 prototype.
