Very nice shot... This Brings back Fond memories
I use to Love eating French Onion soup like this, every time I went out with friends to a diner. And in my early 20s that was many nights a week. I loved it to the point that I Bought a couple restaurant grade Crock/Bowls with handles, just like this, so that I could make it at home the exact same way. Mmmmmmm

Thanks. It's one of my favorite things to make. I've spoiled myself to the point where if I get it at a restaurant, I'm often disappointed.

My favorite!
My boss (who is Swiss) sent me one of those as a Christmas present last year. Unfortunately it got stuck in customs and arrived very late - in fact about 2 weeks past its use-by date. I tried it anyway, really liked it, but had a raging (ahem) stomach upset for about a week afterwards. I guess stale minced figs are not good for the digestion...
