Show Jetties or Piers or Wharfs

    I thought there would be a thread on jetties but it seems not. We have bridges but not jetties. So putting this out there to see if there is any interest. Jetties of any type welcome ... :)

    Seems that it is open it to piers as well? Since most of the images in this thread are technically, if I followed my father's teaching - are piers, not jetties. I believe there is even a wharf or two... ;)

    For what its worth, according to Wikipedia a Jetty is a structure that projects from the land out into water. That covers a lot of water related structures.:doh:

    I was always told that jetties had sloping edges, so more of a stone structure usually used to create a small harbor, piers are usually raised but do not have to and wharfs are big piers with industrial warehouses near, or on them.

    Not that it matters much...
