Found this on my phone dated last year and I can't even remember catching it. It was only last year that I learned to use the phone camera so I'm guessing that I forgot to take my Olly on that day and used the phone in desperation. A quality fish showing the colour differences according to the water clarity as opposed to my picture above.

Looks a good sized fish, are they nice eating? Fresh or sea water?

Freshwater and good eating but I'm too lazy nowadays to clean and fillet so I return all fish except the occasional good specimen (easier to fillet). I only fish the fresh nowadays as again, I'm too lazy to spend time hosing salt from my gear and the trailer. It's nice nowadays to get home and simply reverse the rig into the garage with no worries. Miss the saltwater fishing though. I used to have a 6.5m Whittley Sea Legend powered by 220hp merc and fished a lot offshore but upkeep, trailering ect all got too much for me to handle as I got older.merc and fished a lot offshore but upkeep, trailering ect all got too much for me to handle as I got older.

Yes I can imagine. My dad was a keen fisherman and built a number of boats, using thin strands of ply glued in three different levels, at different angles (hope that makes sense!) Labour intensive, and us girls got to help take the staples out, after the glue set! But lots of cleaning as you say. I do prefer the flavour of salt water fish though.

Years ago a flatmate used to get the occassional freshwatrer perch or trout, and I used to cook them whole with herbs, lemon and onion in the cavity. Very nice, and easy on the budget :)

Not m43 but I got this camera for only Aus$90 off FB Marketplace and now carry it in my pocket when fishing. If it gets slimed up or dropped in the drink, it won't break my heart/pocket.

This girl weighed in at 2.8kilos and kept me busy with only 4lb line. Notice the difference in colour, living up to it's name, to the one that I posted earlier.

Terrible day for photography, just as I was pulling into the area I saw a pole bending. By the time I pulled up and got my camera out he had landed the fish and was walking to his cooler to put it away. Pretty nice Drum !!!
