The thread is "Show Fishing", not "Showing Fish" :hide: Catching fish is a distinction from mere fishing. Well, at least that's how it usually works for me

@Bidkev Is that a retaining strap on your left ankle?
@twigboy. No, it's a tie down strap for the centre hatch. I'd just taken the camera out of there and hadn't fastened the lid back down

First pic is me tied up to what used to be a sunken bridge. The construction materials are interesting but I can't age it. It's a road to a village which was submerged when the valley was dammed. There's normally about 12ft of water above the bridge and it holds some huge Golden Perch (Yellowbelly) but not today :-(

2nd pic is our club boat ramp which is the old Adsetts Rd which again was submerged when the dam was built. Muscle power and leccy motors only allowed. Behind the guy standing you can see the rd reappearing from the lake. Up to the treeline is the normal dam level but it's only at about 53% capacity atm........................come on rain!!!

The angler had the good sense to hide behind the sea defenses, unlike the photographer who nearly got a soaking

Follow up to my pic of the bridge above. This morning it was back under water after a couple of weeks of rain. Had two good runs but they smoked me under the bridge. Not too disappointed though as the pots pulled me 20 cray for dinner :)

Wow! Ok, we call those crawdads, crayfish, and maybe others -- where I am I have never seen them this big. Are they called something else in Australia?

@twigboy Redclaw. They're classed as an invasive species/pest here is SE Qld having originally come down from the north via flooding escapes from aquafarms. The upside is that the take limit is 40 in the North but no take limit here so you can get a good feed overnight and every night weather permitting. The smaller ones make excellent bait for bass and golden perch.
